In recent years, we have seen how digital learning agreements can significantly reduce the administrative burden and provide students with a quality mobility experience. In the past, the complexity of red tape has resulted in learning agreements not always being concluded before departure, as well as problems with ECTS recognition after students return home. In 2015, ESN joined the European Foundation for Higher Education (EUF) initiative, the Online Learning Agreement, which would develop a tool for students and universities that could be used online for the creation and signing of a learning agreement. In May 2017, the OLA was created to demonstrate the concept of experimentation and adoption of higher education institutions. The EUF has launched another project, OLA, which has added new features to the platform, such as apprenticeship agreements for internships and measuring user satisfaction. The student begins the process by creating a learning agreement in the OLA system and signing it online. Be sure to give your students the right name and email address for the person in charge of your institution (responsible for signing the apprenticeship agreement). It is also possible to adapt the OLA during the mobility phase if your home university requires it. Connect to the OLA system and complete the new learning agreement with changes. University-specific apprenticeship contracts are signed at the faculty`s information centre after the student`s arrival in Bergen. In a study conducted in late 2019-early 2020, more than 90% of students said they would recommend OLA to their peers.
In addition, 93% of IRO believe that all apprenticeship agreements should be concluded online through a user-friendly tool. The apprenticeship agreement is a key document for Erasmus mobility. From the Erasmus programme 2021-2027, e-learning agreements become the norm. Apprenticeship agreements established for this semester as well as apprenticeship agreements for internships are now available via the old OLA platform. We expect the flexible, reliable, user-friendly and transparent online learning agreement platform for all stakeholders to play a key role in helping European universities move to fully digital learning agreements from 2021. All Erasmus students entering and leaving the UIB must use the OLA system. If you need a PDF/paper version of the learning agreement, your student can download a PDF of the OLA after being signed by all parties and send it to you. (For the students` thesis: contact the Office of Foreign Studies) The institution that receives will automatically receive an email from firstname.lastname@example.org and we will sign the OLA as soon as possible.
